Brazilian media reports that Liverpool will negotiate with Brighton to buy Joao Pedro in advance in January.
The Brazilian forward moved to Brighton from Watford in mid-2023 and has since developed into a key player, making nine Premier League appearances this season, scoring four goals and providing three assists.
The Reds’ interest in the Brazil striker is not, however, new. Pedro has been follow by Liverpool management for almost five years, since his time at Watford, in the 2019/20 season.
Currently, the first contacts between the parties are still in an exploratory phase. However, Liverpool could speed up the operation, given that Manchester United are also interest in the player.
Pedro is tie to Brighton until June 2028.
Despite the player’s ongoing injury problems, Brazilian outlet UOL has revealed that Pedro is of interest to Liverpool, who are in talks with Brighton.
The Brazilian media reported that the Reds are ready to negotiate a deal for Pedro in advance, hoping to close the deal by January, with the player set to move to Anfield in the summer of 2025 if all goes according to plan.
