Melasma is a skin condition that appears as brown spots on the skin from the body producing too much pigment. The cause is not yet clear. But the most common cases are caused by UV rays and increased levels of certain female hormones.

UV Rays:  Prolonged exposure to UV rays from sunlight causes melanocyte cells to produce more melanin in the skin. and causes the skin to become dark as a result.
